Scar Therapy

What Is A Scar?

Scars are the physiological healing result of any trauma to the skin where the dermis (deep layer) of the skin has been injured. A scar naturally occurs to bind the edges of a wound together.

I have heard the terms hypertrophic and keloid scars – but whats the difference?
Both hypertrophic and keloid scars are thick, raised and usually discolored. Keloid scars usually extend beyond the edges of the original wound while hypertrophic scars do not.

Do I Need To Get Special Creams To Reduce Scarring
Absolutely not! A multi-million dollar industry has grown up around the problems of getting rid of scars and if you look at some products, they are very expensive indeed. However, if you do a bit of research, on sites like this for example, you will soon realise that there are loads of perfectly safe and natural alternatives that, in smoe cases, are completely free yet work as well as many of the expensive retail products that you can find in shops or for sale on websites.

I have had scars for years – do I just have to live with them?
I would say no – but to be honest it really depends on how big and how visible the scar is. As with any procedure relating to your body, you always need to take care when trying to reduce the appearance of scars. It may be that your particular circumstances forbid you from using any of the methods outlines in the Scar Solution. However, given that this guide uses only natural products then its unlikely that you will suffer any unpleasant side effects. If in doubt always consult with your doctor or a qualified dermatologist.
